Gracie’s New year Life Resolutions . . . 2012 and Beyond!

As I sat and reflected on 2011, and looked toward 2012, I was hit in my spirit to impart the following . . . It’s not about me ~ It’s all about HIM!  Not that I’d gotten a new revelation of any sort, or by any means.  I’ve always known that, but how much harder is it to do, than to just know it! We are all just so caught up in the day-to-day robotic doldrums wherein some—if not most—of us are sucked so deeply into the vortex of life that we find ourselves not giving of our time to our Lord as nearly often enough as we ought.

It brings me to:

Romans 7:15-20—For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.  For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but [how] to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

It dawned on me that we so often set our goals, desires, and resolutions around “self”—well, let us now be “self-less”, and move toward deepening our relationship with the One who so desires us to be in daily communion with Him.  He who created us . . .

While this list is in no way near exhaustive, it’s a pretty good start to my “new year”, but moreso, my “New Life”! : )

† Isaiah 55:6 ~ I will seek Him while He may be found, I will call upon HIM while He is near.

† Philippians 3:10 ~ I will purpose to know Him and the POWER of His Resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.

† Colossians 3:1 ~ I will seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth at the right hand of God.

† Colossians 3:2 ~ I will set my affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

† 2 Corinthians 4:18 ~ I will look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

† Psalm 13:6 ~ I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

† Matthew 5:16 ~ I will let my light so shine before men, that they may see my good works and GLORIFY MY FATHER which is in Heaven.

† Ephesians 5:1-2 ~ I will therefore be a follower of God, as a dearly loved child, and live a life of love! As Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.

† Philippians 4:6 ~ I will be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, I will let my requests be made known unto God.

† Habakkuk 3:18 ~ I will rejoice in the Lord, and I will joy in the God of my salvation!

† Deuteronomy 6:5 ~ I will LOVE the Lord my God with all my Heart, and with all my soul, and with ALL MY MIGHT!

† Jeremiah 29:13-14 ~ I will seek HIM and find Him when I search for Him with my whole heart.

† 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 I will be joyful—always—no matter what happens, I will always keep on praying—no matter what happens; I will always be thankful—for this is God’s will for me—as I belong to CHRIST!

† James 4:7-8 ~ I will resist Satan’s attempts to control me.  I will tell him to get out, and he will leave.  Then I will ask God to come closer to me, as he promised to get as close as I will let Him.

† James 4:10 ~ I will humble myself in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift me up!

† Philippians 4:6 ~ I will not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, I will present my requests to God.

† James 1:5 ~ If I lack any wisdom, I will ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to me.

† 1 Chronicles 28:9 ~ I will acknowledge the God of my father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If I seek him, he will be found by me; but if I forsake him, he will reject me forever.

† Proverbs 16:3 ~ I will commit to the LORD whatever I do, and my plans will succeed!

† Psalm 23:4 ~ I will fear no evil!

† Psalm 59:16-17 ~ But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. ~ Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

† Psalm 18:1 ~ LORD, I LOVE YOU! FOR YOU HAVE DONE SUCH TREMENDOUS THINGS FOR ME! ♥

Now, how’s that for a “Mission Statement” . . . ?
