There Is A Fountain Filled With Blood

As I sat in church one Sunday morning, under the teaching of  Charles Carrin, he shared aloud these touching words, and I will never, ever, ever forget the surge of emotions that ran deeply through my soul.  His eyes welled up with tears (as did mine) while he recited aloud with such deep, sincere conviction, the words to William Cowper’s poem/hymn, “There is a Fountain Filled with Blood”.

He described  with passionate detail of our wonderful Saviour’s selfless act and gift of love, mercy, and grace.  It was for our redemption that He went to die on that cross; and, it was for our crimson-stained sins.  ~ Forgiveness was the name of the game.

I’ve since been fascinated with the life of William Cowper.  He was a godly man who, like so many of us, suffered with deep bouts of depression, but like us, never gave up, nor lost sight of who God was to him, and who God is–the great I AM! ~ AMEN.

There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel’s veins;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.
